Ludovica Delfino, at 26 years old, is a symbol of dedication and sacrifice in the unique field of professional artistic roller-skating.
Her artistic and athletic journey began at age 4, when Ludovica first tried roller-skating, she says “It waslove at first sight”. Over the next two decades, she trained diligently in both Viterbo, her hometown, andin Rome.
Although it required many sacrifices of in her youth, the end products were several
championships in Italy and Europe. Eventually, in 2021, Ludovica took home the title of world champion at the Artist Skating World Championships in Asuncion, Paraguay.
With such talent and grace on the skating rink, it’s clear that Ludovica’s passion for the sport Is unmatched. “I feel in my place. I feel happy even when I train, even if I arrive at training sad, I leave happy.”
Ludovica feels that roller-skating is a way for her to continuously learn, and the decisions and sacrifices she made shaped who she is today. In addition to training 5 days a week and her gymnastics routine, she also graduated university with a degree and currently teaches elementary school in Viterbo.
For being incredibly successful at such a young age, Ludovica is a role model for young women, especially those looking to pursue an athletic career. Her advice to girls with grand dreams: “never lose the authenticity that is you. Because only in this way can you slowly go forward and achieve great victories, like how it was for me.”
Ludovica’s next objective is training for this year’s regional championship. With her drive she is sure to continue winning and remains a symbol of bravery and female empowerment.
