laboratorio teatrale rivolto ai ragazzi dai 14 ai 18 anni, in lingua inglese con la docente-artista Gaia Mencagli.

14 weeks, 14 classes.
Class 1 – Warm up games and having fun – break the ice, learn names, learn games to be used as warm ups throughout the term.
Embodied Image work:
Class 2,3 – 4 Natural Elements – towards action and speech
Class 4 – Animals – towards action and speech
Class 5 – Any image – towards action and speech
Create a character and discover its story
Class 6 – Choose an image on which to start the exploration of a character – discover its physical rhythm, how it moves in time and space, how it speaks, what sensations/images it evokes
Class 7 – Explore the character´s neutral state – daily morning routine, go to work routine
Class 8 – Characters meet – meeting at a train station/inside a bus or in a Murder mystery game. How do they exist in relationship to the other?
Class 9 – Free talking and writing from character perspective – done in paris and individually. Then sharing. What is their will? What do they want from life? What clothes do they wear?
Class 10 – Choose one moment in the life of the character to explore, individual work – something dramatic has happened. How is the character different from before? This exploration will take place in a specific place, with 1 to 3 specific objects, with character clothing, and with one selected piece of text from the free writing or found text
Class 11 – Choose one moment in the life of the character to explore, individual work – something dramatic has happened. How is the character different from before? Class 12 – Create a scene and tell the story – based on the previous work find a start, a development, and an end to the scene so that the story emerges.
Class 13 – Intertwine the different scenes – the characters´ scenes intertwine, with possibility for interaction between those, still holding on to the core of each character´s story
Class 14 – Sharing of the work with an audience.
Classes alternate between group and individual work, where the sharing of the work is a source of inspiration and learning. Starting from the perspective of those involved in the work, there will be observations on what worked and what did not work, building then on the positive feedback. There will be fun homework/things to think about from one class to the other, to give the opportunity for those who wish to engage deeply in the work to do so.
